We are currently hiring Registered Veterinary Technicians.
Gold Coast Equine, located in Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking qualified individuals for a veterinary technician position.
We are a busy, single-doctor practice with a focus on equine sports medicine. The disciplines of our clientele are diverse, including dressage, hunter/jumper, three-day eventing, reining, barrel racing, cutting horses, pleasure and trail riding.
Applicants ideally have equine handling experience and either knowledge of, or sincere interest in, equine veterinary medicine.
Duties of this field position include, but are not limited to:
- Safely handling horses in-hand at the walk and trot, as well as on a lunge line
- Ensuring the safety of the doctor during procedures using standard restraint techniques
- Setting up and breaking down equipment at each call and maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Assisting with diagnostic modalities including radiography, ultrasonography, and endoscopy
- Administering treatments and medications as directed, including IM and IV injections
- Assisting with treatments such as injections via aseptic preparation of the patient, setting up a sterile field and assisting the doctor during sterile procedures
- Collecting venipuncture samples and processing lab work
- Communicating with clients, documenting in medical records, invoicing
- Daily restocking of truck inventory
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment on truck and lab equipment in office
Applicants must be able to meet the physical demands of the position including carrying heavy equipment, jogging horses in hand, and restraining horses during medical procedures.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and attention to detail, show proficiency while training on the job, demonstrate an interest to learn new skills, and be willing to work long hours. The ability to do computer work while traveling between farm calls is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time with overtime opportunities.

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week.
